NEW YORK CITY — New York City school officials say all public schools are closed Thursday because of the winter storm.
The LIRR also suspended passenger train service systemwide and city bus service was suspended.
The storm began Wednesday and continued overnight.
The National Weather Service said snowfall totals could reach 14 inches.
